Power in Numbers

A standoff that began after authorities raided the Durham-area farm associated with raw milk advocate Michael Schmidt Friday ended with a deal that saw seized equipment left behind, but samples and some computers removed.

People at the scene at Glencolton Farms reported via social media that the raid involved the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Agriculture and Food, police, the Ministry of Finance and others.

A tractor was pulled across the laneway at the farm and some in a group of about 50 people said they would not let authorities remove some items from the property. Some computers had already been removed, however.
